Program Overview

The Barbering program is designed to prepare students for employment as restricted barbers or barbers and to successfully complete the Florida Barber License Examination. Instruction and learning activities are provided in a laboratory setting using hands-on experience with tools and chemicals appropriate to the program content and in accordance with safety and sanitation practices in the trade.

This program offers full-time and a part-time morning enrollment.

The Barbering Program is delivered through a hybrid learning model:
Programs that are offered through a HYBRID delivery model combine face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning activities. During classroom instruction time, students can be engaged in authentic, collaborative learning experiences. The online components may include multimedia-enhanced content and channels for ongoing discussion. Students enrolled in a course that is delivered through a hybrid delivery model are encouraged to have computer and internet access at home.

Admission Requirements

  • 16 years or older
  • Basic Skills Levels: Computations (Math) 9.0 & Communications (Reading and Language Arts) 9.0
