Practical Nursing

Program Overview

The Practical Nursing (PN) program develops well rounded future nurses for a variety of healthcare settings. Students gain the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to provide direct nursing care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, home health care, and community based settings.

This educational program includes classroom theory, laboratory experiences, and supervised clinical experiences with clear program learning outcomes.

Through cooperative team efforts, our graduate practical nurses will successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Practical Nurses on their first attempt.

Practical Nursing is three semesters for full-time day students, and three semesters for the hybrid evening program.

The PN program is a selective admission program and therefore has its own admission process in addition to the school application.  Students are encouraged to apply early!

The Practical Nursing program at Lively Technical College (LTC) meets the educational requirements for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida.

LTC is an educational institution that is approved under s. 464.019, Florida Statutes for pre-licensure education of professional or practical nurses. Students who are graduated from the LPN program at LTC will meet the educational eligibility criteria for the National Council for Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) for obtaining their license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Florida.

Our program and certificates may not meet the licensing requirements in every state. Therefore, we advise non-Florida residents who are considering our program for professional licensure or certification, to determine whether or not this program meets the educational requirements for graduates to be eligible to apply in your location.
